Fine HardwoodsCan I choose the weight of my billet?
No. Billets come from the mill in mixed weights and we pull orders straight off the rack, so weights are random within a grade. The heaviest billets are sold separately as High Density and Trophy / Youth billets.
What size are your billets?
About 37" long and 2.78" round, hand-split and vacuum-kiln dried.
What do Prime, A and B mean?
Prime is our best wood: 20" or more of straight grain through the handle, no open knots where the hands go. A grade is what our unfinished bats are turned from: solid playing wood, with any flaw usually under the hands. B grade is paint grade: it turns a full-size bat with no big holes or voids, but there is no grain promise.
Do you have Select, Choice or economy ash?
No. We sell Prime and B grade billets, A-grade unfinished bats, and Prime ash only.
Is there a discount for buying more?
Our billets are already priced close to wholesale, so there are no quantity breaks on singles. The way to save is a B grade box of 6 or a full skid.
How do I get skid pricing?
Skids are quoted, not posted. Send us the species, grade and number of skids, the full ship-to address, whether it is a business or a residence, and whether you need a lift gate. We'll send a quote.
Will my unfinished bat ink dot?
Choose the ink-dot upgrade and your bat is turned from Prime wood. A-grade wood can pass the ink-dot test too, but we don't guarantee it.
When will my order ship?
Billet orders ship 2–3 times a week. Unfinished bats ship in about 1.5 weeks, up to 3 in the busy season. Rush production is available on unfinished bats.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is FedEx, calculated in your cart from the weight and where it's going. A billet weighs about 6 lb boxed; an unfinished bat about 2 lb.
My billet had a hidden knot. Can I return it?
Billets can't be returned once they ship. We check every billet for visible defects before it goes out, but we can't see inside the wood.
Do you still carry bamboo or beech?
We no longer carry beech or bamboo billets. We're selling out our last pre-cut bamboo bats: when they're gone, they're gone.
Can you put my logo on bats?
Yes, through our private label program: $150 setup, 24 bats on the first order, any quantity after that. Members see their own logo on the bat preview when they sign in.
